Schreiber ADR mediator Phillip McCallum has been elected to membership in the Alabama Academy of Attorney Mediators (AAAM).


Membership in the Academy, which was founded in 1998, is by invitation only. Proposed members must be sponsored by three Academy members, and admission to membership is by vote of the members.


To be eligible for membership, an attorney mediator must have practiced law for at least 10 years, completed basic mediation training, and conducted at least 10 mediations during the two years preceding membership.  Present membership is more than 50 attorneys, including Schreiber ADR founder Allen Schreiber.

The AAAM’s stated purpose is to:



  • empower the role of attorneys as professionals in dispute resolution;
  • increase knowledge, awareness, and expertise in the art of mediation;
  • improve the effectiveness and skills of attorney-mediators;
  • promote the highest ethics qualifications and training standards for attorney-mediators;
  • develop contextually consistent forms for use in connection with court-annexed mediation;
  • work for the improvement of the existing court system; and
  • promote the use of court-annexed mediation and qualified attorney-mediators.
