As we navigate re-opening guidelines, I have been working closely with several groups of attorneys who have arbitration hearings scheduled with me over the next several months. There are obviously many issues to discuss since there are varying degrees of comfort with how the hearings should be conducted. This is even more complicated given the ever evolving State and Federal Guidelines.
Recently, both the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR) - have issued new guidance to assist arbitrators and parties engaging in virtual hearings due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis. I believe these are very helpful resources.
